Mirage

 

“Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand” - Philippians 4:5

 

A deer couldn't find water in its sight in the summer season. It searched for water here and there. It saw a stream when searching for water. It ran towards the water. It was decided to see only sand. Alas! It was a Mirage. It appears due to the changes occurring in the air due to heat. 

There is an incident in the Bible. Jesus, when he was doing ministry saw a fig tree at a distance and went near it expecting fruits, for the tree was green and lush. Alas! He couldn't find any fruits but leaves and cursed it. 

 

Most of the time our life is also empty like this Mirage. Sometimes we appear lush like that fig tree from outside. Someday we might appear like a fruitful person and a clear stream to our friends, relatives, neighbours and fellow believers in church. But our true fruitless life will be revealed once they come near us and mingle with us. 

 

Especially, how do we behave to our spouse, parents, parents in law, children who are always with us? Do they see fruits in us? Can our family say our witness ? Think for a minute. If you say yes, your Christian journey is right. If not, our life is hypocritical. Our life won't be useful to anyone like the fruitless fig tree and Mirage. Let us think!
