Broken heart

 

“Be still, and know that I am God” - Psalms 46:10

 

In life the father of modern missionaries, William Carrey, one day in the noon his press and storage room started burning. All the printing machines were burnt. He couldn't bear this accident. He was heartbroken. Carrey is a good translator. He is the reason for translating the whole Bible in 20 languages and the New Testament in 40 languages. He translated parts of the Bible in 12 languages. He has stored a lot of translated documents in his storage room. This is not a few days of hardship. These are the fruits of long and hardworking sleepless nights. There were no computers or Xerox machines to make his work easier. All his hand written notes were arranged in order and were burnt to ashes within 2 hours. Alas! It was a heavy loss. But he was calm in the presence of God and did everything again. 

 

We can read in Psalms 46:10 “be still and know that I am God". Yeah we have to sit in the presence of God. We can know the depth of things only if we sit in His presence. If we continue to read the chapter it reminds us that, even if it is a great loss, fear or accidents happen around us, when we sit at His presence He will give us the heart to overcome everything. 

 

Yea my dear! We are all protected in God's hand from our weariness. We can receive peace from God if we think about the Godly attitude and wisdom of He who rules over everything. We should be acceptable towards everything patiently that God does to us. Let us have an unshaken faith in God amidst our loss. Let the mind-set of William Carrey encourage us. It is easy to praise God in our abundance. But let us have faith in Him in our failures, loss, sickness, debts and tears!
