Tears of Jesus
“He wept over it, if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace” - Luke 19:41-42
Jesus Christ came on a colt to the festival to Jerusalem. His disciples and lot of people came there with Him celebrating. They cried out saying "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord". He wept for Jerusalem when He was near the for He knew what is going to happen to it.
Jesus wept in two situations, first is when Lazarus died and the second was for Jerusalem. Women followed Him weeping when He was carrying the cross, He said " Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children". People wept for Jesus. But Jesus wept for the destruction going to happen to the town of Jerusalem, its people and to the temple. He was compassionate to them because people didn't knew but ignored Him. He weeps not only for them but also for us when we ignore the most valuable salvation.
My dear brothers and sisters! Is He weeping for you? Or is He happy for you? do a self realization. Look at the love of He who said " if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace." For whom did He carried the cross, beaten by whip, crowned with a crown of thorns and crucified? Is it for Himself? No, but for you! If you want to wipe His tears, accept Him as your savior! Then you will receive your peace! The time to meet Him not as crucified but as the risen Christ, Heavenly king is nearing. Let us get ready! Amen.
