Daily Devotion (English) – 07.03.2021 (Kids Special)

One who goes with you 

“…do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Hello kids, how are you? Shall we listen to a story that reveals how our heavenly Father protects each one of us? 

There was a beautiful village near a gurgling river. A little girl named Jensey lived in that little lush green village. She read the Bible and prayed daily and attended Sunday Classes regularly. She was brought up and taken care of by her grandmother as she had lost her parents. Jensey had to walk to school whereas her friends came to school with their parents on cycles or scooters. While walking to school alone, Jensey used to sing songs and recall the verses she memorized at the Sunday school.

One day while going to school, she felt that she was followed by someone. Telling the memorized verses, she walked fast and reached school. While returning home in the evening also she had the same feeling of being followed by somebody. She was so scared to turn back. She ran home singing songs aloud. She shared that day’s experience with her grandma. Her granny quoted the following verse. “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” and then advised her to be wise and careful. The next day they went to church to attend Sunday service. While they were returning home, a tall man with a big mustache approached them. He said, “I had been trying to kidnap your granddaughter for the past four days but I could not lift her, as a man clad in white always accompanied her. May I know who he was?”  Then Jensey’s grandmother explained to the man how God protects His people by sending His angel to walk with them and protect them. Jensey reached home holding her grandma’s hand and singing happily. 

Dear kids, whatever problem you come across each day, must be shared with the parents. As Jensey was seeking God, she was kept away from all evil by God. He was always with her to safeguard her. Whenever fear comes, tell Jesus and pray. He will protect us from all evil. Are you going to be an excellent childlike Jensey?
