Amazon river

 

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;…” - Hebrews 2:3

 

Amazon river is the longest river in south American continent. It stretches over 6400 kms. Its biggest delta covers the size of Switzerland. It originates in Peru, runs across Columbia and brazil to reach Atlantic ocean. It has 3000 fish species. Amazon rainforest is on the both sides of the river. It has twenty five lakhs of insect species, two thousand bird species and thousands of plant species. Among them are a man eating Piranha species, anaconda a snake species that grows to a length of 40 meters and poisonous frogs. 

 

Once a ship entered the Amazon river, due to some engine fault it stood in the river. The ship couldn't be repaired in a certain period of time, so the captain and the passengers couldn't move out of the ship and were worried due to hunger and thirst. Their tongue dried up and thought they will die. Nobody came forward to help them. After that a bot from Peru came that way, they understood the situation and told them " Sir why do you want to die a foolish death? The very river our ship got stuck has good water, fetch from it and drink." Then they fetched water from the river and regained their strength. 

 

My dear, Our Lord Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and gave us salvation for free, without knowing this thousands of people are going to their grave. 2Corinthians 6:2 says "now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation." Like the Peru people, let us show Jesus to those who are going towards death and guide them towards life!
