A cock's crow

 

“Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew” - Matthew 26:74

 

Cock will wake people up in the morning. God has given it a place in the Bible. The proud appearance of the cock when we see it walking is beautiful. If a butcher saw it, he will thin this bird will go for a good price. Whose cock is this, did it came here to scratch the ground to forage for food is what we will think. But Peter will be remembered when we say Cock. We can say that cock is a mighty monitor. It made peter cry bitterly. How many preachers have come but revival fire wasn't burning in nobody's heart. But this cock crew louder and it made peter cry. Peter came to his senses through this cock. God will speak through anything to humble ourselves before cross. Didn't God open the mouth of the donkey to warn prophet Balaam?

 

This cock's cry tells us that we are alive because of God's grace. But people fell down speaking prideful things and trusting in their own strength. Peter believed in himself when instead of realizing his weakness when our Lord said that. Had he prayed in the Gethsemane garden, he might have received the strength of God. But the reason for his denial is relying on his own strength and ignorance. 

 

Children of God, at that day a cock's crow made Peter realize. God is speaking to you through this devotion. Correct yourself when the word of God comes to you don't thicken your hearts. God is close to the broken hearted. How God made Peter realize the earliest love and gave him new life, He Is capable of doing that to you. Come to God once again like Peter did.
