Unchanging love

 

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” - 1 John 3:16

 

Few years back an youngster was put in jail for a murder he committed. An evangelist went to share the love of God to him. He said, "Son, may be this world might ignore assuming you are a murderer. What is the condition of your soul after death? your Creator, He Who came for you, He Who died for you on the cross Jesus loves you" and tears started rolling down his eyes. He gave himself to God that day. A peace filled his heart. The day of his execution came. In the end he sang a song he wrote, and accepted the punishment happily. 

 

"Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me

What have I done for Jesus to love me?

Jesus loves me a sinner

Understanding this will I fly within His hands.

 

We can see the love of God frim the start till end of the Bible. We can see His sacrificial love on the cross. Love on Calvary will melt a hardened heart. Jesus Christ loved everyone when He was a man in this world. Few repaid for His love. In Luke chapter 10 we can read that Martha and Maria accepted Him into their house. Lazarus was called as His friend. When Lazarus died of sickness "Jesus Wept" (John 11:35). His compassion rose Lazarus from the dead. 

 

There are different types of love in this world. Few are fake, selfish and some are vanity. But the Love on the Calvary is sacrificial, holy and compassionate love, a true love. My dear child of God! are do you feel like an orphan in this world? turn to the cross on Calvary. From there He loves you by shedding His precious blood. If you have slid back like the prodigal son, even so Jesus loves you. Will you surrender your life to Him? Salvation is made for us in Jesus Christ and in His blood.
