Hands of Christ

 

“Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” -Isaiah 49:16

 

Hands will do what the brain tells them to do! We do things like shaking hands and expressing happiness, stretching the hands and hugging to express love, writing and so on. All the hands are working without any rest. Hands should be clean is what the Bible teach us. David says "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." 

Dear child of God! meditate on the hands of Jesus! His hands are soft. But unafraid to work hard. It did carpentry happily. It encourages us to do our job truthfully and perfect. It held the hands of Jairus's daughter to say, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise and gave life, It is a powerful hand that touched and healed the mother in law of Peter, lepers and countless sick people. Ah! how deep is the kindness originating from the hand of Jesus. How sweet it is. 

 

His hands had to carry the cross on the path of Calvary. His hands couldn't bear the weight of the cross. He carried the cross with His strength alone and stumbled on the streets of Jerusalem. Not only that but His hands were nailed to the cross. How much do we struggle if a thorn pricked in our hand. He endured patiently when it went through His hands. The nerves in His hands might have suffered unbearable pain. That pain might have reached head and caused severe pain in His brain. Why did He offer himself to be pierced with nails in His hands?

Through prophet Isaiah Jesus says, Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands. Dear child of God! your future is in His hands. He has engraved you in his hands to monitor you all the time. Ah! how great is the Love of God!
