Daily Devotion (English) – 14.03.2023

 

We are healed by the wounds of the Christ

 

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:5

 

It was an Easter Sunday, the pastor brought an old parrot cage and kept it in the pulpit. Everyone in the church were looking at him with lot of question. On seeing them the pastor started speaking, he said " I saw a little boy carrying this old cage in his hand. I saw three parrots shivering in fear in the cage. I asked him what is in it." He replied, " these were three old parrots". I asked him what are you going to do with this parrots, he replied with a laughter, " I will take them home to play with. I will rip their feathers, anger them and make them fight with one another and entertain myself. In the end I will feed them to my cat". I asked him "son will you sell these parrots to me?". He said "Sir these are ordinary parrots and they don't sing, they are not even beautiful." I said to him " Tell me the price for these parrots". "100 rupees he said. I started walking with the cage. the little boy flew with the money. I opened the cage and let the birds fly in the trees near our church" and continued to preach.

 

One day satan who cam from the garden of Eden and Jesus were having a conversation. He said pride fully, " Jesus I have brought this whole world under my dominion. Nobody opposed me. I have conquered everyone without any age restriction. Jesus asked in a calming voice, "what are you going to do with them?". He said "I will teach them to fight, drink, smoke. Not only that, but how to make ammunitions. Jesus painfully looked at him and said "Then? ". Satan said "I will lead them to commit suicide and kill them." "What will be the price for them?" asked Jesus. Satan said" Sir, You don't need them. They are not good. They will spit on Your face, curse You, injure and crucify You". Jesus didn't listen to any of these and said" just name your price". Satan ridiculed Jesus by saying, "Sir, I need all Your tears and all the blood in Your body as the price."

 

The pastor opened the cage and showed the empty cage to the church and started to pray. Yea, God bought us with the blood He shed on the cross. Freed us from the bondage of Stan. Have we realized it?
