Heavy cross

 

“Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” - Mark 8:34

 

One day Peter went to sleep with some heaviness in his heart. That day he had a dream. In it, he was walking, carrying a cross and crying. On the way he was walking on a cross which was acting as a bridge between two hills.

 

He was walking with many questions like, I can't carry this cross, why did I born in this world, Why this cross. He heard a lovely voice. It said " look at a bog room on this hill, go and place your cross there." He was thinking while walking towards that room and opened it to see lot of crosses in it. 

 

He heard the voice once again. It said, " The cross which was bridged between the hills which you walked upon was the cross I carried. You crossed it easily didn't you? Now look at the crosses in this room and see which one is the biggest?" when he looked around to see, his cross was tinier than every cross, it made him bow his head in shame. That's when he realized it was the voice of Jesus. 

 

We are worried and start to lose the faith in God thinking only we face burden like trials, temptations, tribulations, distress and separations in our daily lives. He already have carried all our burdens on the cross. He has created a way to reach the Father. " Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."(Hebrews 4:16)

 

Unlike Peter, without thinking about the heaviness of the cross, with a faith that the heaviness of my cross have been carried to the cross by Jesus and let God give us His grace to finish our race of faith with patience. Amen
