Humility

 

“…there is no beauty that we should desire him.” – Isaiah 53:2

 

We might have known about a devoted missionary named Samuel Morris from Africa. He learnt humility as he came through lot of struggles in his life. He came to study in Bible college in Taylor university, Indiana. The president of the college asked were does he want to stay, he said “If there is a room nobody wants, give that to me". In later days the president remembered this incident and said " when he said that I couldn't control my tears and turned my face to other side. I asked myself that can I accept a room nobody wants". 

 

We might have lot of questions like, will I accept it if I'm liked by nobody? Can I live in this society? We usually don't like an unliked places, an unliked something, an unliked people. But the Bible says our eldest brother Jesus Christ also had an unliked appearance. With our mind be in Jesus Christ, we have to be humble to face such situations. This is what Jesus Christ's life was about.

 

Money, fame, status, education, beauty is all this world expects from us. But our Lord expects us to be humble, blameless and simple living! If Jesus Christ humbled Himself on the Cross-till death, what are we?

 

For your thought: Though others are appreciating themselves, I humbly fell on the foothill of the Cross and wondering about m salvation.
