Glory of the creations

 

“O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” - Psalms 8:1 

 

40 years ago, when I was working in a bank, a training program was conducted. People from all over India participated in it. Rooms were allotted for us near sea shores in Chennai. Few of the attendees were from central parts of North India. They haven't seen seas still then. TVs were not popular at that time. They were surprised to see the sea. They woke up early in the morning to see the beauty of the ocean, sun rise, colorful sky, marvelous ocean waves, the beauty of the waves hitting the shores. I have seen ocean quite often but when they expressed the beauty, its beauty appeared different to me. 

 

My dear! Do we have a thankful heart to see the creations of God around us? King David experienced the joy of seeking meditating and experiencing joy in God when he was still a shepherd. In Psalms 8:1 he worships God saying "O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth" In third verse he says, " When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, and he worships God for being mindful of him. 

 

Have you ever wondered looking at the stars or moon or the ocean, how great the God Who created all these? If we didn't have it in our heart, we might sink into our daily chores or become people without a thankful heart or forget to meditate the glory of God. Let us think about creations around us, the things we ignored thinking these are ordinary things. Instead of worrying about something we don't have, it will be good if we glorify God for the creations he had created for us.
