Baptism not needed

 

“Baptism not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God” – 1 Peter 3:21

 

Let us list and meditate on what shouldn't be the reason for taking baptism. 

 

1. Nobody should take baptism to marry a Christian woman or a man.

 

2. Do not take baptism to please your pastor, parents or friends.

 

3. Not because your family took baptism. 

 

4. Do not take baptism thinking it is a ticket for heaven.

 

5. Do not take baptism expecting God to answer our prayers. 

 

6. Don't take baptism just because you are at a particular age.

 

7. Not because it is appreciable.

 

8. Don't take it if you are in debt to a pastor or a church.

 

9. Do not take baptism expecting money or some sort of help from a church.

 

10. Not because you got healed miraculously.

 

11. Not because you had a vision

 

12. Not because a particular disease should be healed.

 

13. Not before repenting.

 

14. Not before accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior.

 

15. Not before understanding the clear meaning of baptism. 

 

Then who can be baptized? Repent, and let every one of you be baptized. (Acts 2:38). Receive the Word of God gladly and be baptized (Acts 2:41). It will truly connect us with God.
