Marvellous earthworm 

 

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” - Romans 12:21

 

Two young boys were playing with mud. They caught an earthworm. They left it ripped into four pieces and went to play somewhere else. It suffered a severe pain. But in a few days, it transformed into 4 new worms. Though it lives underground, its actions were marvelous. It softens the soil, prevents soil tightening, helps the water to enter into the soil and supports plant growth. Though its bee cut, it lives underground hiding and its life is marvelous. It suffered an evil, but it changed it to be useful for others. 

 

In 2 kings, Syrian king's army laid a siege around Israel, but the king of Israel brought water and bread to them and arranged feast for them and made them go back reminds us of the verse "Blessed are the peacemakers" isn't it? We read that they didn't come to Israel again. It leaves us in wonder that he made peace with those came against him by arranging them a feast. Like this Joseph didn't punish his brothers who sold him, but he saved them. Stephen forgave those stoned him to death and said "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." In the New Testament, Joseph being a good man didn't want to shame Mary. Let the thoughts of Christ increase in us as it did in their lives. 

 

Yea! Let our actions make others think like the earth worm. We need a heart that loves those who rise against us. Let the brotherly love increase in us like Joseph. Let us pray for other during our hard times like Stephen did. Like Joseph, not shaming others let that thought grow in us. Let God bless us!
