Thankful

 

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.’ - Colossians 3:15

 

God is performing too many good things in our life. Gave us food to eat, clothing, a place to live. How marvelously has He created our body? He has created edible crops, fruits and vegetables and gave us to eat them and gain strength from them. We should be thankful for God, for giving us all these when we eat them. 

 

In the Bible, the psalmist says, "My substance was not hiding from thee, when I was made in secret, thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them." Yea, He knew us before we were created in our mother's womb, He happily created everything we need. How wonderful Creator is He! David sings, let us thankfully remember Him. In the New Testament, only one leper came back to thank Him for the goodness he received. God expects thankfulness saying, "Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?". So let us learn to be thankful.

 

My dear! we should speak and think when we sit, stand or walk about the grace he showed us. If we do that, we can't prevent ourselves from thankful to God. Let us thank God with tears by saying "Imagine all the good things you have received; look back to see the good things he has done". Let us encourage our children to grow with thankful feeling by sincerely teaching them thankfulness. Thank people for the goodness they had done to you and thank God for the bad things they had done to you. We can train ourselves to say whole heartedly "Thanks" a six-letter word! Let us worship and glorify God with a heart filled with thankfulness! Amen.
