Tracts ministry

 

“And Nathanael said unto him, can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, “Come and see.” - John 1:46

 

John a old man of 75 years of age was returning home from a Sunday worship. On his way home there was a man distributing tracts under the heading "Jesus is Good". John went to him, took the tracts and said, "why are you wasting your time and energy by distributing this, no soul will come to Christ through this. 30 years ago, I was distributing tracts under the heading of "Deliverance from sin" to neighboring villages and towns. But everyone got them, and nobody read it, some tore it and some threw it down. So, I quit thinking there is no use in such ministry. But this person said, "Sir I was a slave to sin 30 years ago when I was younger. I got a tract about the title you mentioned, I read it, knew about Jesus, got freedom from sin and living for Christ ever since." In the end this old man came to know that he had given tracts to this young man. 

 

In today's devotion, Philip's few words brought Nathanael to the Lord. His little effort, "come and see" is what brought Nathanael into salvation. Like this, in our ministry God can perform great things in our little effort. 

 

My dear! Our tracts ministry is also like this. God won't show the fruits immediately. He hasn’t forgot anything but kept everything in His account. He will show us the fruits in the right time. If we can't see it in this world, He will make us see it in Heaven. When we distribute tracts people may ignore us, few may throw it away. We shouldn't be tired of this and pray for this ministry and continue to do it. We will see the fruits for sure. 

 

To remember: If you give 100 tracts every day, it is in your prayer that how many have received will be saved.
