Who is enemy?

 

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” – 1 Peter 5:8

 

When Jesus was doing His ministry in this world, a village in Samaria didn't accept him. Jacob and John was angry as they didn't accept the Jesus who does good and heal people. They asked Jesus whether they can make fire reign down from the sky and kill all the people like Elijah did. On hearing this, Christ rebuked them and said, He came to save people and not to destroy them. 

 

My dear! Since those who oppose gospel and those who destroy churches are increasing nowadays, these above mentioned incident teaches us a lesson. Those who oppose the gospel are not our enemies. We shouldn't wish those who attack churches to be destroyed. Instead, according to Matthew 5:44, we should bless them, love them, pray for them and do good to them. We should pray for their salvation. 

 

Jesus Christ didn't considered nobody as his enemy and hated none when He was alive in this earth. He didn't call Judas a traitor instead He calls him " friend". He pleaded for the forgiveness of those who crucified him. 

 

The only enemy we have is the devil and his group (1 Peter5:8). He treats people as per his wish ( Ephesians 2:2). 

 

My dear! If we consider someone as our enemy and mad at him, it means we still do not know the gospel. Let us pray for those who oppose the gospel and their groups. Let us bless and pray for those who curse Christians and evangelists. Don't curse them and fight in comments. 

 

God saved us since we were the enemies of Christ, He will save them too. If we do the ministry, let our vision and mentality change when we see such people in villages. Amen!
