Daily Devotion (English) – 11.01.2023

 

College, hostel ministry.

 

“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine [a]just persons who need no repentance.” - Luke 15:7

 

I was studying in a medical college. Since I came from a non Christian background, I thought "Jesus is also a God". 2 sisters from 3rd year did their best for me to know "Jesus is the only God". In our hostel, those 2 sisters and few others will gather for prayer everyday at 6-7pm. One day I was depressed, couldn't sleep and wetting my pillow with my tears thinking do I have a future and their prayer, cheerful singing and worship draw me towards them. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior, in a few months started going to church. In these 8 years there is lot of problems but amidst all these, I can see my God guiding me and lifting me up with my own eyes. The reason for this is these sisters came to me, prayed for my shortcomings, gave me advice and guided me towards God.

 

Jesus Christ also told Peter, an experienced fisherman with nets to catch a fish using a hook. I don't know how long Peter waited to capture that fish using a hook. Jesus said, there is silver coins in its mouth pay it for Peter and Him. 

 

My dear! Do not think little, for it is just a fish without laying your hook. He needs that single fish. If those sisters thought very little about me, I wouldn't be a doctor or I wouldn't do His ministry either. They waited with their hooks laid and God made them capture the fish. Being a reader, do not seek lot of souls but be concerned about a soul in your neighborhood and learn to put a hook towards them. Whole heaven will be happy through that single soul (fish). 

To remember: Since you earned lot of souls, it is your responsibility to monitor whether they work to build heaven.
