Daily Devotion (English) – 29.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

Let us encourage

 

“And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus” - Matthew 14:29

 

Kumar a third year BSc student, he is good at playing football. He won championship in district level when he was in school. One day his friend Raja saw Kumar was sad and asked him why. He was sad because his parents accept his interest in football, so he didn't participate in football for the past 3 years. He shined not only in games but also got decent grades in his studies too. But in college he was a failure in his studies because he couldn't bring out his talents. Raja encouraged Kumar by saying " Jesus kept this talent of playing games in you, believe that he can make you successful in your studies, ignore what others speak, spend some time with Him." From that day forth Kumar started to talk to Jesus, reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. His parents saw his success in his studies and gave permission to participate in state level games. He won the championship and became successful.

 

Peter was seeing Jesus walking on water and he said " I am coming", for that Jesus said "come " to encourage him. If Jesus said " you cant come" he wouldn't have walked on water. Instead, the hopeful word of Jesus made him walk on water. 

 

People around us has hidden their talents due to some situation. Let us not discourage them, but encourage them like Raja did with our faithful words, many will shine like Kumar did. Jesus being an example spoke only hopeful words to his disciples when they were hopeless. That is why they rose to shake countries. Let us encourage those who are with us and make them successful.
