Daily Devotion (English) – 26.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

Job

 

“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” - James 5:11 

 

Job is the only person described by God as "blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." He lived a holy life and was a just man. Just man means a man who lived just before God isn't it ! If he finds a small shortcomings in his family he will correct it and stay close to God. He never miss to seek God and seek forgiveness. Job didn't knew that he is living among the consequences of the conversation between God and satan. He didn't not want to lose God when he lost all his 10 children and his riches in a single day. He says firmly "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him." He tolerated all his troubles patiently. God chose Job to establish the truth of "amidst all the turmoil, there will be just people to love God." 

 

He was firm to serve God amidst his wife's cursing and his friend's complaints. He also prayed for those friends and received God's grace. he received the revelation about the second coming and the resurrection several millennia ago. In the end he falsified the thoughts of satan. Satan lost.

 

My dear! it is true that through our sufferings and sadness God teaches us lot of lessons. We can't say that He permits sufferings only to teach us lessons. We can learn this from Job's life. So let us all be patient in our sickness, sufferings, sadness and struggle instead of trying to learn the reason. Those that hidden belongs to God! May be when you walk through such situation forgive your friends and relatives who spoke ill about you and try to pray for them. God will bless you by giving you the healing, peace and happiness two fold in this upcoming new year.
