The power of bended knee
“Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed…” – Acts 9:40
A certain youth was raised as a Buddhist. When he was 19 years old, he became gravely ill from tuberculosis (TB). He was made severely weakened and close to death. He had been forsaken by the doctors, isolated, hopeless and depressed. As his health was worsening day by day, he was counting his days. At this juncture, he was visited by a little girl telling him about Jesus Christ. His Buddhist parents had forbidden her to visit their home. Somehow, she managed to meet him and gave him a New Testament. The man rejected it and threw the New Testament and scolded her and she was driven out. Without losing heart, forgetting all about the bitter experience and unmindful of cruel treatment, she persisted in preaching gospel to him and praying for him on her knees. One day while praying fervently for him, tears rolled down her cheeks. Watching her praying, the youth could understand the love of Jesus and he too began to pray and he received divine healing. Now he has been doing ministry. He is none other than Paul Yonggi Cho, the senior pastor of the world’s largest church in Seoul, Korea.
In the Holy Bible we read about a disciple named Dorcas, in Joppa who led a godly life. She was known for her good works and charitable deeds. She became sick and died. Peter was called in and he sent all the mourners out, knelt down and prayed and said “arise”. Thus, he raised her from the death.
Dear readers, prayer on knees is more valuable and powerful. Dying Paul Yonggi Cho was given life when a little girl was on her knees to pray for him. What cannot be done with medicine and money, is attained by prayer on knees. Are we shedding tears for the prevailing adverse situation? Have we lost all hope? Let us go down on our knees. Utter failures can be changed in to amazing victory with bended knees. Are we in dismay unsure of the recovery of our beloved one who is hospitalized? Let us kneel down and wrestle with God. Let tears be our weapons. Miracle is close at hand.
