Daily Devotion (English) – 17.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

A meaningful Christmas within Church 

 

“Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.”- Romans 14:1

 

A meeting was organized for the employers in a college campus. The catholic students wanted to attend in the meeting, so they attended. The preacher said, the Catholics and their worshipping method are wrong, this saddened these students. Because these students attended because they wanted to revival in their worrisome life, and they were filled with hatred. The preacher preached about Holy Spirit and Spiritual things, but these students weren't interested in that. Idol worship is wrong according to the Bible, but it was conveyed in a way in which there was no will of Christ in it. 

 

In the Bible Peter, before meeting Cornelius the worldly thought he had was, a Jew should avoid mingling with a gentile and stay close to them. But God said, " What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common" and after that he changed his thoughts. Then he went to Cornelius' house and preached the gospel.

 

Cornelius was honored by the Jews also, he did good to lot of people, he is also known by many Jews. Peter is a man who preached about Christ openly. But Peter according to the Jewish laws, didn't go to house of the gentiles and didn't accept the gentiles into his house. 

 

My dear! since we have received the commandment " Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" and we have lot of denominations in our churches. Can we love others like we love ourselves? How much do we try not to hurt others with our speech? Do we have the heart to advocate for others? If a non-believer comes to our church, can we accept them to our group? We are called to ask questions to ourselves according to the Bible and fix ourselves. Let this Christmas be not like the hindrance to the Catholic students from coming to Christ, but like Peter - Cornelius, accepting the gentiles and supporting them . Amen.
