Daily Devotion (English) – 16.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

Fear regarding your call?

 

“…when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.” - Matthew 2:11 

 

It was the mission call given to Joseph and Mary! The mission of raising Messiah into a man! They had a poor background. It was hard to do work and support a family, but Joseph couldn't continue his carpentry work and had to go for the senses to Bethlehem. He had to go to Egypt to escape the eyes of Herod, again a situation will come in which he has to come back to Nazareth in Israel. He didn't know all this but as a responsible husband he could have thought about the future and worried about it. May be Mary might also had worried about the needs and thought about it. 

 

Nowadays lot of those who receive the ministry call, will my needs be met if I go for the ministry? They worry about money and delay their arrival to mission field. Lot of people are willing to do the ministry, they have the burden about the souls. But the hindrance for their arrival to ministry is the question that will my needs be met in the future?

 

But this couple didn't ask this question, draw their future plan in their mind screen and didn't deny accepting their call. They surrendered themselves saying "Thy will be done". After the birth of the baby, a group of wise men came from somewhere. To their surprise they come and worship the baby. There happened an unexpected event. They opened their treasures to present gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh. Since it was mentioned as the treasures, not only as gold but other two items were also costly too. Hallelujah, to raise the new born Jesus, traveling cost to go to Egypt, to give advance and rent to a house in Egypt and start the carpentry again to cover all their needs God gave gifts to that family. 

 

My friend who has received a mission call! Are you hesitating to come into ministry thinking, will my needs be met? Take the first step with faith. God will open His treasures to provide you in all your needs and guide you without any shortcomings.
