Daily Devotion (English) – 14.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

A meaningful Christmas between couples 

 

“…Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife…” - Matthew 1:20

 

It was the first Christmas this world saw. In a manger, the couple Mary and Joseph held Little Jesus in their arms and were so happy. How come Joseph took care of Mary with love in their nothingness, shall we rewind to see what happened? In the New Testament Joseph is introduced as the first righteous person. How did he got such a good name? He doesn’t want to shame Mary. Wow what a good character! In most of the homes, people expose the flaws of their spouse to their friends, families’ relatives to shame them. But Joseph took the advice of the angel appeared to him in his dreams and ignored the idea of putting her away and accepted her, selfless thought.

 

Mary surrendered herself to carry this blame. An unmarried woman getting pregnant is death sentence according to Jewish laws. She should be stoned to death. Mary didn't think about her marriage life or he life but acted selflessly to fulfil the will of God. Yea, if Christ is rooted in someone's life, wouldn't mind about their shame or blame but will be a blessing for others. 

 

My dear! those who ignore their self-desires, dead for their self, acts on God's will, in their life every day is a Christmas. Whichever couples reflects Christ in their lives, in their homes every day and there is no doubt about it. In the lives of those who can't accept the flaws of their spouse, and live with quarrels, arguments, Christ haven't formed in their families. Their selfish natures haven’t been killed yet. After Joseph and Mary casted away their wills and died for their desires, surrendered themselves to full fill the will of God, not only their lives became meaningful but also they became a blessing for the whole world. Let us surrender our family for God to fulfil His wish. Let us celebrate a meaningful Christmas by reflecting Christ.
