Daily Devotion (English) – 12.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

A meaningful Christmas in role model

 

“But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;” - 1 Peter 1:15

 

A teacher was teaching in a classroom. He asked to all the students, " who is your role model?" They said, AbdulKalam, Gandhiji, KiranBedi and so on. One of them stood up to say Jesus. Everyone in the classroom was marvelled to looked at him. 

 

My dear! can we say this answer? Whom do we reflect in our style, dressing and behaviour. Whom do we have as a role model? Is it politicians? actors and actress? Is it athletes? or Christ? let us think. Are we like Him in celebrating Christmas? As children of Christ do we have His reflection or behaviour? In the Bible a woman said to Peter, your speech resembles His'. But since we have accepted Christ for so long, whose speech does ours resemble? let us imagine. 

 

Jesus while He lived in this world, He showed how to live holy in this sinful life. He was obedient to His parents when He was living with them. He completed the goal to the very end for which the Father sent Speech (John 19: 30). Those who were with Jesus were attracted by HIs words, and kindness. He lived as a light. he forgave the sins of those who spoke ill of Him. Let us live according to the Bible verse " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Let us live b having Jesus as our role model.

 

But today lot of those who celebrate Christmas the birth of Jesus who came to forgive sin, does it by sinning (drinks, smoking). This will make God sad. Let us repent where it is needed. Let us take Christ in everything we do in this new year. Let us inherit heaven. Amen.
