Daily Devotion (English) – 02.12.2022 (Christmas Special)

 

Meaningful Christmas in visiting the sick. 

 

“…I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me” - Matthew 25:36

 

There was an old man suffering from suffocation in the hospital I was working in. I'll go to him to ask "Did you eat?" every morning, he will answer like a sweet loving child. He said something that broke my heart. He said with tears in his eyes "Please kill me, I can’t bear the loneliness and it is worse than this sickness". During this corona pandemic, lot of people hated their life not because of the sickness but the loneliness they felt. 

 

When Jesus was living in this world, did you observe what Jesus asked to a man sick for 38 years and left on the Bethesda pool side abandoned by his family, alone and felt that nobody is there to take him to the pool? "Do you want to be made well?" He asked the thoughts of that man. After knowing what his wish was, Jesus healed him and fulfilled his wish. And the Bible says, he let lot of people know about it. 

 

My dear! We can see lot of people suffering from loneliness, nobody to visit them or from disease like that old man in hospitals or in our neighborhood or pitifully sitting in the road side. What are we going to do to these people during this Christmas? Are we going to celebrate a meaningful Christmas in which visiting the sick and fulfilling their wish like Jesus did? Or are we just going to eat sweets and celebrate this Christmas? Let us make our God happy by living a meaningful Christian life and celebrate a meaningful Christmas. Hallelujah!
