Daily Devotion (English) – 21.11.2022 (Youth Special)

 

I will rise if I fall

 

“...You forgave the iniquity of my sin.” - Psalms 32:5

 

It is possible to lead a life as a useful tool being a sinner and Rahab was an example for this. Who is Rahab? She was a harlot living in the walls of the Jericho. Rahab lead a life as per her wish, but her life was disgusting for many. 

 

Joshua being the leader of the Israelites, sent two spies to Jericho. They stayed at the house of this Rahab. This news reached the king of Jericho so he spent some guards for inspection. Rahab hid and protected them. Rahab suddenly had an unquenchable thirst on the Lord saying for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. She found the true God after hearing about the miracles performed by the God. 

 

She had an unshakeable faith in her heart that even if Jericho was destroyed, God will save our family and also he will help us to hate this sinful life and lead a holy life. The entire city of Jericho was destroyed but the house of Rahab on the wall stood tall. The God who never cast away those who come to Him with faith, did new things in Rahab's life. She secured her place in the list of warriors of faith mentioned in Hebrews 11:31. Not only that, she was also in the genealogy of Jesus Christ as it is mentioned in Matthew 1:5. How is this possible. It is true that the beginning of Rahab is sin. But after she found God, her life totally changed and she is spoken today in history as who carried Jesus. 

 

My dear precious ones! Are you struggling in your young life entangled in sin? "Turn to Jesus, He will save you". Surrender your life to the heavenly potter for He will change your life to be useful for many, happily look at your beauty and protect you. Mrs. Jeeva Vijay
