Uncle Zacchaeus

 

“Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.” – Revelations 3:20

 

Hello children, do you like Bible stories? Mom would have told you. Your Sunday school teacher could also taught lot of Bible stories. Shall we listen to a story from the Bible about uncle Zacchaeus?

 

There was a big town called Jericho. There lived a rich uncle named Zacchaeus. He was employed by the government. So he knew a lot about current affairs and news. So he knew about Jesus. Lot of people used to tell about Jesus to Zacchaeus. So he wanted to see Jesus. 

One day there was a crowd in Jericho. He asked why is there a big crowd, people told that Jesus has come to the town. He was very eager to see Jesus. But he was very short. So he couldn't see Jesus amidst the crowd so he started thinking a different way. He thought, "Jesus will come this way so let me go before him, climb on a fig tree and sit there" and rushed to the fig tree, climbed on it and sat there. 

 

When Jesus came that way, He looked up to see Zacchaeus and said, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at tour house". So he happily came down thinking Jesus even knew my name. 

 

While going home, he said to Jesus that he will donate half of his goods to the poor. If i have taken anything from anyone by false accusations, i will restore fourfold. Jesus happily said " todays salvation has come to this house" (Luke 19:9). 

 

So kids! Will you pray to Jesus saying, Come to my house, come to my heart? If you do, you will be happy.
