A boat goes

 

“For what profit is to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” - Matthew 16:26

 

Once a well educated wise man wanted to cross a river. He started a conversation with the helmsman. He wanted to share the knowledge he had with the helmsman and asked him whether does he know about philosophy and astronomy?. The helmsman said no. What a pity! You have wasted half your life. After some time he asked, do you know science or myth? The helmsman shook his head to say he don’t, the wise man said you wasted 3/4th of your life. They were talking like this and in some time water started to come in through the small hole in the boat. He asked "Sir the boat us about to sink, do you know to swim?" He panicked to say no, he said "Sir, you knew everything except swimming which is very important for life, you are going to lose your entire life I’m sorry". I know swimming. Let me save myself, and jumped in to the river. 

 

Like this king Solomon from the Bible knew everything. The Bible says, there is nobody like him before or will be after. He started to observe everything that's going on under the sky. But he was careless about his life and his end was in darkness. He had 1000 wives and concubines against the Bible. He built temples for idols to ease them. In the end he concludes with vanity of vanities, all vanity. But his father King David had worldly blessings and kingship, and repeatedly said Your Words are happiness to my heart, walking in your commandments is my joy, your knowledge is vast. He was clinging to God till his end.

 

 My beloved! Are you running for the glory, pride or education day and night? Are you prioritizing all these and ignoring the commandments of God? Think. What is the percentage of importance you give to your soul? This short life we live is filled with pain and agony. Instead a life led by prioritizing God and a life for God will be rewarded with happiness, life and eternal life. Yea, life being a boat can sink anytime. If we are with God, he will take us to the shore safe and sound.
