A Lesson learn in the bus

 

“Let him know, that he which converted the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and hide a multitude of sins” - James 5:20

 

I was traveling on a bus once. I was standing near the steps of the bus and kept my bag on the steps. An old man called me to say "keep your bag inside; it is going to fall out". I haven't seen him before. But his action was based on kindness. I could sense his kindness being strangers. Suddenly i had a thought "am I doing anything like this to save the people that die in sin around me?”

 

Even today lots of people are dying around us. They are entangled in sins like alcohol, adultery, fornication, drugs and so on and going towards death. What is our view on them as a person who accepted Jesus Christ? What have we done for them as we know about the afterlife, judgement, eternal life and hell? Are we kind enough to think that they should be saved? 

 

Jesus said a truth when he was in this world. A man went from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves; they stripped his clothing, wounded him and left, leaving him half dead. There came a priest looked on him and passed by on the other side. Then came a Levite he did the same as well. Then a Samaritan journeyed through that way, came where he was: when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. What is the truth this parable tells us? Having compassion on those who are going towards eternal death, bounding their wounds and guiding them towards God is soul winning. It is our duty to do that! 

 

If we say that old man who cared about my belongings had compassion, christians as we prefer to be called and how come we don’t have the burden about other's souls? It will be impossible for someone who loves God not to do soul winning. Sharing Gospel is our duty! Woe unto us if we didn't share. So let us win souls, and guide them from the life of hell to Jesus Christ.
