Let Him protect you
“...The Lord forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee” - 1 Kings 21:3
There was a school in a village named as "The school of salvation". Students will be taught Christian devotional songs daily. One day people from other faith came forward to offer a big donation. That day the vision of the school changed. The management sold the joy in inheriting heaven to measly money of this world. What a pity! Vineyard became a garden of herbs.
Naboth had inherited a vineyard from his forefathers. King Ahab wanted to make it as a garden of herbs. Naboth didn’t agree to sell the vineyard for money or exchange it for a better vineyard. All Naboth thought was "This is the inheritance of my fathers". He might have thought, "When my forefathers came to Canaan they fought 31 kings to inherit this place". When he was stoned to death he didn’t let go of his inheritance ( 1 kings 9:14).
My dear child of God, spiritual gifts handed down to us by the Holy Spirit is priceless compared to the inheritance of Canaan. Our adversary, lord of this world often approach us to bargain for these inheritance. He will try to exchange everlasting and unfading inheritance for fading goodness of this world. Never lose your vineyard i.e. your spiritual life. David said "Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart. (Psalms 119:111)", defend the inheritance we got from the crucifixion of Jesus and the spiritual gifts like Naboth.
