Daily Devotion (English) – 11.11.2022

 

Reward for the effort 

 

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” - 1 Corinthians 15:58

 

One day, the deacon of a church said to the pastor "There must be something wrong in your preaching because only one child joined us this year", the pastor was offended. 

 

He was heart broken and preached that day. He thought to quit preaching after the worship. After everyone went, this little boy came to the pastor and asked, "Can I become a preacher if I study hard?". This pastor said with tears in his eyes “Robert I can see God's hand now. May God bless you. Yes you will be a preacher." 

 

After many years an old preacher came to London from Africa. People were talking about him like this. He is Robert Moffat, he brought many souls into the church including leaders of African extremist groups. Many years ago, he was the little boy who spoke with the old pastor after worship. 

 

My dear beloved in Christ, are you tired of serving God? Our Lord Jesus Christ is a God Who doesn't Forget your efforts. He said " and whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say into you, he shall in no wise lose his reward" ( Matthew 10:42). May be we cant see the result of our efforts, or may be others think little of us. Do not get tired of this. May God guide you without any shortcomings according to "Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have shown and increase the fruits of your righteousness" ( 2 Corinthians 9:10). Have faith, you will witness good harvest. You will receive good rewards. May God bless you.
