Mirror

 

“For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror” - James 1:23

 

Once in a big company, an announcement was hung on the entrance. It said "Today the one who was a hindrance for your growth has died, his body is kept in the boot floor for funeral. You are all invited". Everyone was sad to hear a colleague has died but they are eager to know who was stopping their growth. When the door was opened everyone went in a line to see who was it. They were speechless for a minute as there was a mirror in the coffin. They all saw their own reflection in it. There was a note nearby, it read "Nobody can stop your growth but you". 

 

The king of Babylon sent gifts to Hezekiah on his recovery. Hezekiah was so happy and showed everything in his kingdom. He then forgot the God, responsible for his growth and blessings, became a hindrance for the growth of his descendants. In the end, it was prophesied that some of his descendants will be slaves in the palace of Babylon. 

 

My dear! Our character is a mirror. We all can see our own reflection in it. The bible being a mirror preach us about how should we live as we are all the creations of God. The bible being a mirror is far more useful than the ordinary mirror which we use to correct our appearances. So let us use this mirror to identify the hindrance of our growth and rectify those. Let God help us in our growth.
