Blessing from silence

 

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” - Mathew 5:44

 

Hasius got angry with Seegan when he sought justice for a poor widow in Tharangambadi. He put them through lot of situations so that they might lose their will to be missionaries and go back. In 1708,November without any proper reason, and for trifle reasons policemen came inside his house with guns and arrested him when he was praying and presented him before the governor. He was put in jail for something which he didn't do. They beat him up and called him "dog". They were unsatisfied and threatened to beat him up with a whip and cursed him. He wasn't tired of the situation because of the conviction he had. In his 4 months of prison life 2 German soldiers helped him with a pen and paper, he wrote 2 booklets namely " The God pleasing state of a Christian”, “The God pleasing profession of Teaching". 

 

David was chased away to hiding by his son Absalom. Shimei then cursed David saying "come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial: The lord hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, behold thou art taken in thy mischief" and threw stones at him. Then said Abishai, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord, the King? Let me go over there and take off his head”. David said "behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite does it? Let him curse; for the Lord hath bidden him. It may be that the Lord will look on mine affection, and that the Lord will restore me good for his curse this day" ( 2 Samuel 16:5-12). And when David rose back to the throne, Shimei rushed back to King David crying for forgiveness. 

 

Beloved in Christ! You might have problems, struggles and treachery in your life. May be people curse you for things you didn't do? Do not worry about that. Ziegen was quiet when officers and people were against him. In the end God ends it well. Shimei stood against King David, when the time was right he was done well instead of bad. If you were silent when people curse you, you will receive good and blessings from God.
