The Wish Granter

 

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” - Matthew 10:32

 

We can read about miracles Jesus performed when He was living in this world. Among those one was giving sight to the blind who cried to him. We forget to realize one incident when we read this passage. He asked them "What will ye that I shall do unto you?" Jesus could have known that they were blind and also he knew their thoughts, even though he asks them this question. Yes, He is the God who grants our wishes. He doesn't treat us the way he wants. Instead, He is a God who wants to know our thoughts, longings and bless us according to that. 

 

And the blind men's answer for this question is notable. They didn't reply without faith or hopeless or playful instead they were patient and prayed for their sight. They didn’t test God but they were cautious. But most of the time we have things that test God or unwanted things in prayer. Those blind people asked for something useful and received a miracle. The darkness in their life left and saw light. 

 

Even today most of the time we are blind and don’t know God. We are covered by darkness of sin, disease, pride and arrogance. And our life is moving without us being realizing that we are in a sorry state entangled in darkness. The enemy has blinded us for we do not realize, we are in darkness. So firstly, we have to realize the darkness around us, we should be wise to know what we need like those blind men and ask Jesus what we truly need without considering the hindrances around us, God will surely fulfill our needs.
