If you have This and That....

 

“Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?” - James 2:22

 

An old laundry worker had an old donkey. That donkey was very helpful in his hard labor. One day this donkey fell into the hole he dug for water. This old man searched for the donkey, found it inside the hole and was worried about it. He thought to bury the donkey alive and switch to some other job for living. This donkey thought "My owner came so he will save me somehow". But the old man thought otherwise. The sand pushed by the old man fell on the donkey, it shook the sand on it and used the sand and other stones inside the hole to climb out and went to his home. Did you see the lesson this donkey taught the laundry worker? It was "Use whatever you have to reach success". 

 

We all have faith in God, but we are being lazy think, "The God who gave Abraham a lamb for sacrifice will provide me as well". We are deceived by thinking a crow fed Elijah. When God said Abraham to sacrifice his son, he went to do so without even telling his wife. He got up early and went to sacrifice his son, "God's plan shouldn't have stopped by anyone" that was his goal. 

 

My dear! Abraham being faithful, was ready to sacrifice his son who he had in his old age, is there any better obedience that this? When going with his son, when tying his son, when arranging the firewood, placing his son on the firewood and raising his hand to cut his son, his mind was occupied by the thought that my son is the offering. If Abraham being a human was ready to sacrifice his son, how true is that our Heavenly Father gave his own son to die for us. Let us think what are we ready to lose to protect our faith through action. Let us strive to achieve what God has for us with what we have.
