Way to blessing
“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” - Philippians 2:8
There were lots of bamboos in a garden. The owner of the garden took care of the bamboos and watered them. He will talk to a bamboo which he liked very much. One day the owner said, "It’s time for you to be useful". The bamboo was very happy; it asked, "How are you going to use me?" The owner said, "First I will cut you from where you are now, then i will remove the branches, then I will cut you into two and use you". The bamboo sadly said "Are you going to hurt me so much and use me after that? Please no". It was thinking for some time then said, "Okay use me" and offered itself. The owner cut off the bamboo, removed its branches split it in two kept one end in a stream and the other in a dry field. The dry field became wet. Then he ploughed and sowed the field in few days. He harvested the rice grains in that field. The owner was so happy to see the obedience of that bamboo.
In the Bible, God told Saul to "Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites" through Samuel. But Saul didn’t obey and kept Agag alive and let his livestock escape. In the end it made Saul to lose his kingship. Is our flesh preventing is from Obeying God? (1Samuel 15:21, 22, 23)
My dear! Jesus Christ Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. The obedience of Jesus Christ gave salvation for the entire humanity, isn't it? How happy it is to offer ourselves to live for others by obeying the commandment of God!
