Careful with your words

 

“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” - Proverbs 15:23.

 

A wonderful river bank, green and serene view. There were lot of flowers blooming and the entire place was happy. Children have you bathed in river? It won't be easy to come out of the river whole heartedly isn't it? There were a neem tree and a tamarind tree talking to each other. Tamarind tree said, "I am old, my roots started to die out, my body is weak too. I don’t know when I will fall down by the wind and washed away by the river." Neem tree worryingly said, "It's really hard to get a good friend like you". 

 

There came a sparrow asked permission to build a nest on the branches of the tamarind tree. Tamarind tree refused so it builds a nest on the neem tree, but it was worrying in its heart for the tamarind tree didn't give a place to build its nest. Suddenly there was a storm and rain, the tamarind tree fall down and washed away by the river. The sparrow said, "It’s on your head, you didn’t help me so you deserve this punishment", neem tree said " stop it, don’t talk without knowing the truth, it was old and if it gave a place for you to build your nest, you will be washed away by the river with it, and that’s why it didn’t let you build a nest on its branches" and cried. This sparrow's eyes were covered in tears. This sparrow flew to the tamarind tree and apologized saying" forgive me tamarind tree for I misunderstood you". A carpenter took the wood from tamarind tree to make furniture. This sparrow wondered thinking; you are useful even after death. 

 

My dear little brother and sister, chose your words more carefully. We shouldn't speak ill of those who didn't help us. Let us be careful to speak a word that makes others happy.
