Beware of deception 

 

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:21

 

I read about a fake lawyer lived in Chennai. He was fooling his family and lot of others saying he is a lawyer. His fraud was brought to light one day and those who trusted him felt cheated. Few years back a guy thought to be a famous doctor was identified as a thief. The Mayer of that town said "He escaped from England and took refuge in our town." It was a shock for the patients those who went to the hospital he was working in. 

 

In Acts chapter 5 we can read about people those who proclaimed themselves as Jesus and people fooled by them. Jesus Christ said in his gospel that "Take heed that no man device you". And "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Satan don't deceive us directly, but through brilliant and tricky plans. It is no point in blaming others when we are deceived by him. 

 

Don't believe everything that the Preacher preaches, instead read what is said in the scriptures and learn to meditate on the light of the Bible. We might have heard a proverb "here will be deceivers as long as long as people are innocent." My dear in today's devotion, Paul writes in his letters saying "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." Today God instructs us through Holy Spirit to be aware of the trickery of Satan. Let God help us to be careful.
