Shouldn't you have compassion?
“Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?” - Matthew 18:33
John is 25; he was searching for a good job. One day he got a call for a job that paid 60,000 per month with the help of his relative. John dressed up well and went for that interview. He had to walk for a few distance. He saw an old man walking and he is out of breath. All of a sudden, he slipped and fell down. But John didn't help him; he went as if he didn't see this old man. He was shocked to see this old man is also sitting with the recruiters. John understood the situation he is in and he lost in the interview.
In Matthew 18:22-34 we can see Jesus is saying a parable. A guy was brought before the king for whom he owed money to. As he pleaded for mercy, the king forgave his debt. This man went home happily. On his way he saw someone who owed him money and grabbed him by his collar and said, "Give me my money back now" and treated him badly. He was poor so he asked some time to buy back the debt. But he was cruel enough to punish him. The king heard this and asked to pay back the debt he owed and throw him in jail with the punishers.
For the above two incidents, helping others is the foremost thing said there. Similarly, God want us to show kindness like God does with us, we should forgive others like God forgave our sins. But most of the times, we harden our heart with anger, rage, jealousy and hate and get revenge without forgiving others. But this is counted as a sin before God. But Jesus says that we should forgive for seven or seventy times. Our sins will be forgiven like we forgive others. So let us forgive others so that our sins can be forgiven and inherent the Heaven.
