Orphaned Children

     

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” - James 1:27

 

A photograph which was released by a volunteer from Turkey brings tears in the eyes of many. Lot of hungry people are wandering for food in drought stuck Somalia. Food is provided in rations in camps. And lot of volunteering organisation is also helping Somalia. A two-year-old girl was looking at a man and crying who brought food for quite some time. She lost her parents to hunger was crying sadly as she gained a hope to live. There are lakhs of orphaned children in Somalia. 

 

We can read in the Bible "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". From the incident we read above, we can see lots of voluntary organizations are working not only for hungry people but also for orphaned children. God expects each one of us to do these kinds of good deeds. In the Russian invasion on Ukraine, lots of children have become orphans. Like Somalia, in African countries there are countless children orphaned because of hunger. Because of this situation, lots of children have lost their parents. Psalms says, "Blessed is he that considered the poor."

 

We read what pure faith from the verse above is. Bible instructs us to show compassion on orphaned children, abandoned people and poor. We should compassionate towards the orphaned children we see on the streets. Let God help us!
