Be thankful

 

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful” - Colossians 3:15

 

During world cup finals Germany won against Argentina. Both teams played well. But German player Mario scored a goal during overtime and won the game. He Glorified God and posted in face book saying, "God I didn't ask anything to you, but I thank you for everything you gave me". 

 

Moabites and Ammonites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat and the Jews gathered and prayed to God. They all stood together as one and worshipped God. Moabites and Ammonites killed each other and died (2 chronicles 20:1-20). Jehoshaphat and Jews thanked God. When Jesus went into a town 10 lepers came to him and pleaded "Jesus please help us". That instant Jesus healed them. Among them only one came back to thank Jesus. Jesus asked him "10 were healed and where are the other 9?" We can understand that Jesus expected thanking him in this situation. 

 

When Jesus was about to be betrayed, He took the cup, thanked God and gave it to his disciples is what we read. Jesus thanked for everything and left us an example. We should thank for everything. That's what Bible teaches us. Psalms 50:23 says, "Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation". So let us thank God for everything and every time. Not only during blessings but also during emptiness, shortcomings in life, be it blessings or not let us learn to thank God. It is the best for us.
