My wish

 

“Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven” - Proverbs 23:5

 

I was praying for a long time to buy a mobile phone. But my prayers weren't answered; I kept on praying after that. While I was praying for a mobile phone, then I asked myself “Why didn't I have the eagerness to get a spiritual boon or fruit or the presence of God?” The eagerness I had to possess something of this world, why didn't I show that eagerness to obtain spiritual boon or fruit, I was ashamed of that. 

 

Many a times, we as a Christians especially those who are in the ministry, we don't have eagerness like Elisha instead we are thinking like Gehazi. We struggle to obtain these worldly things. We are focused on protecting them too. But St. Paul says, "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ" (Philippians 3:7). "Set your mind on things above, not on earth" (Colossians 3:2). Paul had his goals to ease God, so this world appeared waste to him. 

 

Yes, our priorities will become our wish. Elisha wanted to get the spiritual boon and the anointing Elijah had so his eyes were on those Elijah had. He struggled without hesitation and got that. Knowing all these Gehazi didn't care about Godly things. My dear, do you pray for these worldly pleasures and possessions? Our Father in heaven who knows our needs is capable of meeting our needs. So, pray for Godly things. Seek heavenly things not things of this world and be blessed!
