The wait will end 

 

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life” - Proverbs 13:12

 

There were some Iraqi war prisoners taken to Iran in the war between Iraq and Iran. Among them was a husband whose wife was pregnant and about to give birth. She was longing for husband to come back, and she gave birth and named the child "Insilitta" meaning my longing will end. Whenever she calls the baby's name, she can feel the assurance of her husband coming back and her longing will not go to waste. At last, they heard a news that the prisoners are released and are coming home, mom and her daughter they both ran to see him. She saw her husband and she was happy saying "my longing ended".

 

Gabriel came to Mariah and said, “You have found favor with God; you will become pregnant, give birth to a son, and name him Jesus”. She was worried at first thinking how can this be? Then submitted herself to the word of God and accepted the word of God became the reason for our savior Jesus Christ to be born in this world. There were lot of women eagerly waiting to bear God in their womb, but Mary got the chance accepted the Word and He Himself is the word, whole heartedly and blessed. Her wait didn't go to waste, Savior was born. 

 

In our lives we are waiting for some good things to happen. After praying, getting a promise or a word and it gets delayed we are tired, losing hope and we forget to hold on to the promise given by God. We should not be like Sarah who tried to get a child in a short cut. Like the Bible says "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." Let us wait for the promise of God, incubate the word of God in our heart and try to get that and be victorious.
