Lying lips

 

“Lying lips are abomination to the Lord.” - Proverbs 12:22

 

On my way to the shop from home i smelled a disgusting bad smell. But I must cross that to go to shop. While coming back home, I remembered the above-mentioned verse. God is disgusted on us when we lie. 

 

We don't consider lying as a big sin. I have to gain other's trust. We are casually lying so that others don't find mistakes in our works. We don’t think that God is listening to us. We have to lead our lives by obeying God. Lies won't come from our mouth if we want to please Him. The result of lying according to the Bible is, 

 

• But the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped (Psalms 63:11)

 

• A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who speaks lies shall not escape (Proverbs 19:5)

 

• He who speaks lies shall perish (Proverbs 19:19)

 

• Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death (Proverbs 21:6)

 

• For the sins of their mouth and the words of their, let them even be taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which the speak (Psalms 59:12)

 

• He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence (Psalms 101:7)

 

• Let the proud be shamed, for they treated me wrongfully with falsehood (Psalms 119:78)

 

• He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness, deceit (Proverbs 12:17)

 

• God hates a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:17)

 

• A false witness shall perish (Proverbs 21:28)

 

There are lots more about liars in the Bible. We know the end of the liars Ananias and Sapphira. Let us protect our lips and soul from lying. Amen
