Modern troubles

 

“For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake” - Philippians 1:29 

 

Serji loved his country very much. He was attracted towards communism and Russian policies. He was working as a chief in a Russian spy organization, and he likes to torture the Christians in a particular region and lock them up in jail. He heard that somewhere people are praying in secrecy and rushed there with his team. He rushed in unexpectedly and started beating them. Among those was a girl named Natasha, she was also beaten by him and his team. His heart was filled with joy that he was pretty sure that this people will not gather for prayer after getting beaten by him. The next week he heard that there were some people gathered for prayer and he went there with his team disturbing and started beating them. 

 

Now Serji was amazed to see that girl Natasha came to this meeting as well with injuries. He was irritated to see her and punched her in her back. Again, he saw Natasha in some other gathering. Natasha's perseverance and prayer made Serji question him. In a few weeks Serji was brought into the love of God. 

 

 A young girl's unshakeable faith brought a rugged man into Christ. We don’t know that sometimes the problems that we face will bring glory to God. Richard Wurmbrand writes "We are not troubled by prison experience; instead, God led us to prison so that lot of prisoners can be saved and brought into God's love". May be lot of us reading this passage is entangled in troubles. Whatever happens is happening for good to those who seek God. So don't get tired of the troubles you are going through, don’t fall back. The problems you are facing will bring glory to you and changes in your neighborhood. So, the troubles of these days are not equal to the glory that is about to be revealed.
