Once an old man came to visit his son, who was working on an office which is the top floor. Unfortunately, the lift didn't work so he was climbing the stair and taking a breath in 3rd floor. A young man came there, he thought to himself "poor old man how can he get to the ground floor with this much luggage" and took the luggage and started going downstairs swiftly. This old man started shouting at the young man, but he didn't listen, he kept the luggage at the ground floor and went his way. He proudly thought to himself " thank God I did my best to this old man". This old man came downstairs somehow carried all the luggage to the second floor and catching a breath. There came a young woman she told the old man “Old man let me help you" took the luggage and started going downstairs swiftly kept the luggage there and went her way. This old man was sufferings from the deeds of these misunderstanding youngsters, and he finally lost interest to meet his son and went home. Misunderstanding the situation is the reason for this. 

 

We can read the separation of Israel into two countries in 1 Kings 12. Rejecting elder's advice and taking immature same age friends' advice " and he spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scourges" is what caused the separation of Israel. So, one group followed Jeroboam which led to the separation of Israel and Juda. 

 

My dear youth, in your tough situations and problems whose advice are you taking? If you take your immature friend's advice, whatever their feel right will be the advice they give and it will bring more problems. Bible says there will be order in places without wise people to guide the people. David says, "I will praise the God who gives me advice", we have to seek advice from the God who said ' I will teach and guide your way ". Then you should seek the advice from the spiritual elderly people who are trying to discipline you and try to walk on that. If you do that your life will be blessed and strengthened, you will be a blessing for the church and society.
