Whose crow?
“…if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” - Romans 8:13
Noah sent a crow from the ark to know whether the earth is dried up or not. It was going out and coming back till there was water on the land, because garbage is its food. It ate the dead things floating on the water and came back only to rest. Noah couldn't decide what is going on out of the arc. That crow was completely useless because it didn't fulfill its purpose.
People who accepted Jesus Christ, but didn't leave the worldly deeds behind are like this useless crow (1 Corinthians 2:14). They need both God's blessings and this world. They don't care about the purpose God have for them. They are not useful for both God and others. They live for themselves.
Look at the crow which brought food for Elijah in the morning and evening. God had changed its character of feeding only itself and its family. So it fed Elijah and obeyed God's will, become useful for both man and God. In the same way those who have crucified their past self are guided by the Holy Spirit. They will be a blessing for God and people around them.
My dear, are we the crow in Noah's ark or the crow that fed Elijah. If we are the crow from Noah's ark, let us surrender ourselves to the Holy Spirit to burn our selfishness, jealousy, anger, irritation and pride. Let us be useful to God and people like the crow that fed Elijah.
