Brake

 

“…the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning…” - Job 42:12

 

Once a physics teacher asked his students "Why do vehicles have brakes?" He got different answers like "To stop the vehicle, to reduce the speed, to prevent accidents, to maintain an average speed and so on. But one student said to go fast". Everyone started laughing at him. Teacher said" if you assume a vehicle didn't have brake you cannot travel fast. Brake gives us the confidence that we can stop the bike so that we can ride fast" If the brake is properly used, we can reach the destination safely.

 

We can read in the Bible Job's life stopped with a sudden brake. He had 10 children, lot of cattle and lot of servants. He was so prosperous, and all his blessings took a sudden brake. He didn't sin or curse God about this. He believed that the brake of God who is leading him will never go wrong. Later Job received two folds on whatever he lost. God blessed Job's future more than his past. 

 

Dear child of God reading this passage, whenever we see loses, hurdles, brakes (breaks) in our lives we think that these are coming to reduce the speed of our lives and we shrink our mind. We think that "these brakes came to destroy our confidence". The brake that comes in your lives is not to reduce your speed but to increase the speed. These brakes that come in our lives are in God's hand. Nothing can happen in our lives beyond God's control. So let us be patient and receive two-fold blessings like Job did.
