I will come back

 

“…I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” - John 14:3

 

A father and his 9-year-old daughter were swimming in the sea on a summer day. Suddenly big waves hit them and separated the little girl from her father. Her father was seeking help because he couldn't rescue her on his own. "My child don't be scared, hold on to the plank and swim and I will surely come to rescue you" her father shouted. He came back with rescue team and shocked to see his daughter was not there. She was swept deep inside by the waves and was found only after a long search. She obeyed her father and was holding on to the plank tightly and floating. After rescuing her they asked, "How can you swim for this long without losing hope?" "I did what my father told me to do, I will come to save you my father said, and I can hear those words repeatedly again and again" she said. His words gave me hope. 

 

The birth of Jesus was prophesied many times, Jews who knew about that didn't accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. In the same way Jesus spoke about his resurrection many times but his disciples didn't understand that. We shouldn’t be like them. Our lord Jesus Christ said, "I will come back and take you to be with me". This world is shaken by famine, pestilence and wars amidst all these; He will come again surely to take whoever believes in Him and floating over the plank of salvation with him. 

 

When we are tired of depression and struggles, let this word of our God “I will come back" comforts us. Like that little girl who was waiting for her dad and floating by holding the plank, in the same way let us wait for our God. Like He said He will surely come back and wipe our tears. He will take us with him. Let us get ready meet him.
